Our Story

On April 22, 2023, our beloved Daxy, nearly three years old, was tragically taken from us. We were outside, playing in the woods with
his six year old brother – something we did so often and Dax’s absolute favorite thing to do. A storm was coming that night, so we were getting in time outside while it was still nice. It happened in a second. One gust of wind. One tree crack. It was our worst nightmare, and in that one second our lives were instantly, and
forever altered.

As we worked through the unimaginable pain in the weeks following, there was a shimmer of light through the darkness. The outpouring of love by our family, friends and community was the invisible force that caught us every time we fell. The generosity, donations and empathetic words of love and encouragement pulled our family into a vortex of support. It gave us hope and a redefined purpose. As we continue to embark on our own healing journey, we realized part of that is to honor our Daxy in the best possible way. This is how our son outlives us. This is how Dax has generational impact. We will be his voice. We will speak his name. We will share his stories and his bright blue eyes. That is why we have started The Dax Pact.

Life isn’t easy, and it’s not always fair. We will continue to have days where we question, why us? Why him? But we will persevere
knowing our angel will continue to influence and affect positive change for the community that has shown us the most amazing unconditional love in our greatest time of need.
